The Autumn 2025 Farmer’s Almanac Predictions Have Arrived—Discover the Upcoming Weather Patterns for Your Region

This summer marks the third consecutive year as the hottest on record, and it seems the heatwave is set to persist across much of the U.S. as autumn approaches. The Old Farmer’s Almanac, which has recently unveiled its seasonal weather forecasts, suggests that numerous states can expect a warmer and drier autumn.

A significant portion of the U.S. is bracing for a fall that will be both warmer and drier than the norm. The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts that at least 30 states, particularly those in the west, will see temperatures and conditions that deviate from the usual.

With temperatures still soaring, it’s the perfect season to tackle outdoor chores such as cleaning gutters, roofs, and outdoor furnishings. In places like the Southeast and Florida, average daily temperatures will hover around 80°F, necessitating the continued use of air conditioning and sprinklers well into the early fall months.

Other areas, like the Pacific Northwest, will experience above-average autumn temperatures, though not excessively hot. September in the PNW is expected to average around 60°F, dipping to about 57°F in October. Residents in these areas should ensure their heaters are in good working order and their insulation is ready for the winter season.

Here are the regions poised for a hotter-than-average autumn:

– Atlantic Corridor

– Southeast

– Florida

– Deep South

– Heartland

– Texas-Oklahoma

– High Plains

– Intermountain

– Pacific Northwest

– Pacific Southwest

– Alaska

Conversely, the Farmer’s Almanac anticipates that certain states, particularly in the Northeast, might see cooler-than-normal autumn temperatures. Those in regions expecting a cooler and drier autumn should begin preparing their homes with traditional pre-fall tasks, such as sealing windows, addressing drafts, testing heating systems, and preparing fireplaces for use.

This year, regions that are cooling down include:

– The Northeast

– Appalachians

– The Lower Lakes

– Ohio Valley

– Upper Midwest

– Desert Southwest

– Hawaii
