Nutella-Pumpkin Spice Bars combine the two most captivating autumn flavors into a delightful, simple-to-make treat. The tender, juicy pumpkin base is delicately seasoned with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, offering the quintessential cozy autumn feel with each bite. However, it’s the indulgent chocolate-hazelnut swirl that truly elevates these bars, adding a creamy sweetness and a touch of luxuriousness to a timeless seasonal dessert. Upon baking, the Nutella subtly sinks into the batter, resulting in pockets of gooey chocolate in every square.

Ingredients:

– 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

– 1/2 tsp. baking powder

– 1/2 tsp. baking soda

– 1/2 tsp. ground ginger

– 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

– 1 cup canned pumpkin

– 1/2 cup vegetable oil

– 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 2 eggs

– 1 tsp. vanilla

– 1/2 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread, like Nutella

Instructions:

– Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 13×9-inch baking dish and line it with parchment paper, allowing an overhang for easier removal.

– In a large bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, nutmeg, and 1 tsp. of kosher salt. In another bowl, blend the pumpkin, vegetable oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Combine the flour mixture with the pumpkin mixture until fully combined, with no lumps left.

– Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the top.

– In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the chocolate-hazelnut spread for 30 seconds until it’s pourable. Drizzle the warm Nutella over the batter and use a knife or skewer to create a marbled pattern.

– Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for about an hour. Lift the bars out using the parchment paper overhang and cut into 16 servings.

Store the bars between sheets of waxed or parchment paper in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
